Rolling Ball--Equal Distance and Time

PIRA Number (none)

Acceleration can be demonstrated by showing that an object undergoing an acceleration does not cover equal distance in equal time. A steel ball rolls down an inclined plane. The track has metal contacts connected to a signal generator. When the ball rolls over the contacts a beep is heard through the speaker. There are contacts spaced an equal distance apart and equal times apart (shown above). A switch determines which contacts are in circuit.
